Didn't quite make it to mainland China!
Well we leave HK tomorrow, heading off for Japan. Our plans for heading into mainland China were set back by a seventy pound visa to enter China for us both! We're not quite sure how that one works since HK is part of China but anyway we took a trip to the Ocean World Theme park instead to see some Giant Pandas followed the next day by a trip to the beach (funnily enough named Repulse bay!)!
After so much excitement we thought it necessary to hit the local bars. Little did we know that there was a carnival going on and like typical backpackers managed to find the cheap beers!! Yard sticks of beer were just HK$3, which works out at 21p! the only catch was that you had to put in a business card. Since we didnt have any we just asked in some local shops for their business cards and put those in instead!!
Anyway, thats enough for now but here's some more pics for you (note the hotel we stayed in on the first pic)...

We're out of India....woohoo!!
Well we arrived here on Monday (we think) and thank god we're out of India! As nice as it was to experience the culture there, a week is about as much as we could handle!!!
Hong Kong is about as different as you could imagine! It's clean for a start and a pleasant change not to have to see people urinating and defecating on the streets in front of everyone! Having said all that, in exchange for staying in a central location in Hong Kong for little more than 5 pounds each a night, it's not without it's touts trying to sell you suits, Rolex's etc!
What else can we say. We've been up a 6km cable car ride (blagging a nice half price discount!), and been up the longest escalator in the world. Unfortunately it only went one way so we had to walk back again! We've also been on what must have been one of the steepest trams up the mountain to get a good view of Victoria harbour in Hong Kong:
Tomorrow we're planning on taking a train into mainland China. Louise wants to take in the sights and me, well I'm on a search for some sweet and sour St. Bernard! I hear they breed them especially!! I'd like to give snakes blood a try, which might be nice! haha!
Anyway, that's enough for today - here's some more pics of this mad place.
